Michael Martinez
About
Michael Martinez is the proud son of a Mexican immigrant and comes from a family deeply rooted in community service. His mother has spent her life advocating for victims of domestic violence, while his father devoted over four decades to community development. Following in their footsteps, Michael has dedicated his career to empowering others and creating meaningful change.
Michael earned his degree in International Studies with a focus on migration from South America to the United States. During his undergraduate years, he participated in Semester at Sea, traveling to twelve countries and engaging with global leaders. One of the most influential moments of his journey was meeting a former Robben Island prisoner, whose story of resilience and unity left a lasting impact on Michael’s commitment to justice and human dignity.
He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where he concentrated on immigration law. During law school, Michael collaborated with professors, nonprofit organizations, and immigrant communities to gain hands-on experience serving those in need.
Now a licensed attorney, Michael brings his passion, empathy, and dedication to Burgos Law, where he proudly advocates for immigrants and their families. Guided by the firm’s mission to bring hope and justice to every client, Michael strives to ensure that every person he serves feels heard, respected, and empowered.
